Search For The Needle Chapter 4 in The Hollow: Graveyard & Pumpkin Boss

Chapter 4 is live with the Halloween build, and since 22 October the same Graveyard run is also the quest stop that pays The Hollow's 20 Tickets. This page keeps the official facts — the two badges, the event window, the map name — apart from what dated recordings show you doing, and names the numbers they disagree on.

Quick answer

Four candles, one match, and a pumpkin that fights back

Chapter 4 drops you in the Graveyard. Find four candles in the haystack, carry each one to a holder around the giant pumpkin, and light it with the match minigame — strike the match until the header clears, then drag it onto the wick. Skeletons start climbing out of the graves as soon as you light one. The fourth candle cracks the pumpkin open and the Pumpkin Golem — the game subtitles it “The Hollow King” — comes out with a health bar, thrown pumpkins, spike rings and a blackout phase. Beat it, and a white van takes you out of the graveyard to a Chapter 5 teaser.

Since the 22 October build this is also the quest that pays The Hollow, Roblox's Halloween event: finish the run and the event owes you 20 Tickets in the Hollow hub. Same four candles, same boss — there is nothing extra to learn. What the event does add is a time budget, because players report this stop taking 40 to 60 minutes solo while the other stops run 3 to 15. The ticket payout is also the one part of it that players keep reporting as missing; see the event section below.

Confirmed

What the creator's own surfaces say

Each row below comes from the Roblox badges API or the official event page, read on 2026-10-17. These are the only official statements about the chapter.

Official

Chapter 4 exists, and it ships with Halloween

Two new badges appeared in the official badge list: “Finish Chapter 4” (id 633210958402996, created 2026-10-07 16:38 UTC) and “Defeat the Pumpkin Boss” (id 554833055852742, created 2026-10-08 12:37 UTC). In the same window the experience renamed itself to [🎃] Search For The Needle, so the Halloween theme is the creator's own labelling rather than a third-party guess.

Official

The official event window

[🎃] CHAPTER 4 + HALLOWEEN (event 6128439204818059862), hosted by Garage Games, carries the creator's note “The story continues... 🎃” and a window of Sun 11 Oct 2026 01:30 to Sun 25 Oct 2026 01:30 as Roblox rendered it for the UTC+8 browser we first read it with. That end date has since moved: the event record's own eventTime now reads 2026-10-10 17:30 UTC to 2026-10-31 18:30 UTC, and its updatedUtc of 2026-10-17 20:53 UTC is when the extension went in, so the chapter's window closes on 31 October, not 25. Roblox prints event times in your own timezone, so open the event page to read it as your clock shows it. Those window dates are the only dated statements the creator published about the chapter, and the page keeps the moved one visible rather than overwriting it silently.

Official

The map, in the creator's own words

The “Defeat the Pumpkin Boss” badge carries the description “In GRAVEYARD Map”, and “Finish Chapter 4” carries “Finished the SpoooOOooky Chapter!”. Between them they name the map and confirm a boss and a finish line — nothing more. No creator surface publishes the objective list, the boss's health, or a reward amount.

Official

Both badges are already being awarded

At the 2026-10-17 API read, “Finish Chapter 4” stood at 347,125 awards and “Defeat the Pumpkin Boss” at 348,531 — large enough, and close enough to each other, to say the chapter is finishable right now rather than a badge parked ahead of its content. The live build timestamp moved to 2026-10-16 19:40 UTC, so a patch landed after launch week.

Observed in two recorded runs

What actually happens, in order

Read from two full Chapter 4 recordings uploaded 2026-10-11 and 2026-10-12. Garage Games has not published this order. The two runs agree on every step's shape and disagree on three numbers, which are flagged where they land — so nothing here is a fixed constant.

Step 1

Pick GRAVEYARD in the party screen

The map tiles in both runs read GRAVEYARD, FARMHOUSE, BASEMENT and RANCH. Selecting GRAVEYARD opens a “CREATE PARTY” panel with a NORMAL / HARD switch and a Party Size stepper — so a difficulty selector does exist, even though both recordings played NORMAL. No recording shown here plays HARD, so nothing below describes what HARD changes.

Step 2

Collect the lobby Halloween gift first

The 2026-10-11 recording opens on a lobby pop-up reading “SPOOKY GIFT! / BONUS GIFT! / 3 HALLOWEEN CHESTS” with a CLAIM button and the line “OPEN THEM AT THE HALLOWEEN CHEST”. Claiming it is free and the candy it produces is spent on the same chest screen described further down.

Step 3

Read the board, then dig the haystack for four candles

The opening board in the 2026-10-12 recording shows an illustrated instruction reading “LIGHT ALL FOUR CANDLES”, with the haystack and the four candle positions marked 1 to 4. The objective panel then reads “Find the Candles (0/4)” over “Light the Candles (0/4)”, with a third line printed only as “???”. Candles surface from the haystack the same way the needle does; picking one up prints “Got a candle! Place it in a candle holder.”

Step 4

Carry each candle to a holder around the giant pumpkin

Both runs show four holders around the giant pumpkin at the centre of the graveyard. Standing at an empty one prints “Place candle”. One candle per holder is what both runs do, though no published rule says a holder cannot take two.

Step 5

Strike the match, then light the wick

Placing a candle opens a full-screen minigame titled “Light The Candle”. On the left is a match and a matchbox; the header reads “STRIKE IT! 0/2” — or 0/3, or 0/4 — and you drag the match head across the striking strip until it catches. The header then becomes “LIGHT THE CANDLE!” and you drag the lit match onto the wick on the right. The panel closes on “LIT!” and the counter advances (“Candle lit! 1/4”). The two runs disagree on how many strikes each candle needs — the shorter run logged 0/2, then 0/3 on its second candle, while the full run logged 0/2 for the first two and 0/4 for the last two — so read the number in the header rather than counting strikes.

Step 6

Survive the skeletons that climb out of the graves

Lighting a candle wakes the graveyard. Green light spreads across the crosses, the graves crack open and the game announces “The dead are rising from their graves!”. The skeletons chase you while you are still carrying candles. Both runs break contact the same way — jump onto the bed of the red pickup by the gate — and each kill drops Halloween Candy (“+1”, “+2”, “+5 Halloween Candy”). The full run also shows skeletons surfacing on their own as hay is cleared, before any candle is lit.

Step 7

Light the fourth candle to wake the boss

The fourth candle completes both counters to 4/4 and prints “All four candles are lit!”. The giant pumpkin cracks apart, the Pumpkin Golem bursts out of the ground, and the objective panel swaps to “Defeat the Pumpkin Golem”.

Step 8

Beat the Pumpkin Golem — “The Hollow King”

The boss banner reads “PUMPKIN GOLEM” with the subtitle “The Hollow King”, and the health bar carries the name “Pumpkin Golem”. Its attacks across the two runs: exploding pumpkins thrown from above, spike rings telegraphed on the ground, a burning ring, skeleton waves, and a blackout — the full run prints “LIGHTS OUT / the fire burns cold now”. The shorter run shows a “WOUNDED! HIT IT NOW” prompt under the bar, which is the window to commit damage. The bar in that one run started around 200,000; that is a single reading, not a published constant.

Step 9

Take the van out, then read the completion screen

The kill banner reads “PUMPKIN BOSS HAS FALLEN!” with a time under it — “Felled in 7:05” in the shorter run and “Felled in 4:32” in the full one. Every cross then turns green and the skeleton count spikes while you wait, so the fight is not the last thing that can kill you. A white van breaks through the gate, you jump in the back, and the driver — in a straw hat and plaid shirt — turns around with a line. The full run then ends on a completion screen reading “TO BE CONTINUED... (CHAPTER 5)” over “TIME 00:32:21” and “+275 GEMS”, with a “+500 HALLOWEEN CANDY” tag in the corner and two buttons: “RETURN TO LOBBY” and “REPLAY 0/1”.

The game is the authority on every one of these steps. Objectives, boss behaviour and rewards change with builds — the live build moved on 2026-10-22 — so if your run differs from the order above, the counters on your own screen win.

The Hollow event

The same clear, and the 20 Tickets it owes you

Read on 2026-10-24 from Roblox's own surfaces plus one dated recording. The event adds a reward and a deadline to the run above. It does not add a second route.

Official

The experience renamed itself [THE HOLLOW] on the 22 October build

Roblox's games API carried “[THE HOLLOW] Search For The Needle” on 2026-10-24, with the live build timestamp at 2026-10-22 23:13 UTC. The Halloween [🎃] prefix is gone. The rename is the creator's own label on the game page; no Roblox announcement names this experience.

Official

The Hollow is Roblox's Halloween event, and this game is one of its quest stops

The Hollow hub experience (place 116463962153167, by Roblox Presents, created 2026-10-14) prints its own rule line: “Complete event quests, here and in participating experiences, to earn avatar items.” Roblox's 21 October announcement gives 22 October to 2 November 2026, rewards collectable until noon PT on 2 November, and a live finale on the morning of 31 October.

Official

This game is not one of the nine monster games

That same announcement names nine monsters from nine horror experiences — 99 Nights in the Forest, DOORS, Dandy's World, Piggy, Scary Shawarma Kiosk, Animal Hospital, Demonology, The Mimic and Warden. Search For The Needle is not on that list, so read it as a quest stop rather than a hub monster with its own night.

Reported

The reward is 20 Tickets — with 40 reported after the 25 October build

No creator surface publishes a ticket figure. Three creators uploaded The Hollow guides for this game on 2026-10-23; one names 20 Tickets in its title, and a commenter under another uses the same number when complaining the payout did not arrive. Comments left after the 2026-10-25 build put the payout at 40 instead — one says “did this today for 40+ tickets”, two others simply write 40. Both numbers are player speech, so neither becomes a constant here.

Observed

It is the same Graveyard run, not a separate map

The quest clears when the Pumpkin Golem falls — the four candles, the four lights and the boss described in the walkthrough below. Nothing in the event asks for a mechanic this page does not already cover, so there is no second route to learn: a Chapter 4 clear is a Hollow clear.

Reported by players

How long the stop actually takes

Self-reported clear times from the comment threads of the three 2026-10-23 guides. Nobody has published a duration, and the same run pays 20 Tickets whatever it costs you.

Solo, no help40 to 60 minutes

Six separate commenters put their solo runs between 40 minutes and about an hour, with 6 to 10 of those minutes spent on the boss fight. One of them says the Permanent Infinite Bag is what brought the trip down to under an hour.

Party of 3 to 4 who know the mapabout 40 minutes

One commenter timed 35 minutes to reach the boss fight and 5 to 7 more to finish it with three competent players. A duo where one player already knew the game reported 24 minutes.

The other Hollow stops3 to 15 minutes

The same thread compares the rest of the event — Paranormal at roughly 3 minutes, Flee the Facility at 4, Sell the Lemon at 15. One commenter's numbers on one evening, so read them as a shape rather than a ranking.

The practical read: if you are farming Tickets and not playing Chapter 4 for its own sake, take a party. The candle hunt is the whole cost — the boss was 5 to 10 minutes in every timed report — and more players means more hay cleared per minute before the first candle surfaces.

Reported by players

20 Tickets, 40 Tickets, or nothing

The badge is what the run earns. The Tickets are what the hub owes you, and that is the part players keep reporting as missing. These are player words, dated by the guide they sit under.

  • - “I got the badge, but For some odd reason I didn't get the 20 tickets…” — comment under TheOfficial Fuzion's guide.
  • - “is the event bugy because i did some of the events and get the badges and i go back the the hollow event it doesnt let me claim the tickets” — comment under Conor3D's guide.
  • - “i did the royale high and bloxburg quests but when i went into the hub i didnt get tickets” — comment under Conor3D's guide.
  • - “Are tickets bugged for anyone else? Not getting them since dandy's world became the daily game…” — comment under Conor3D's guide.
  • - Conor3D's own caption on his return to the hub reads “I didn't get a badge earned pop up when I joined the hub, or any tickets! Likely just a visual glitch that'll hopefully be fixed!”

Four players and one creator, across two separate guides, on the first two days of the event. The picture changed after that: the comment thread of a 2026-10-24 Hollow guide (read on 2026-10-31) contains a run that reports being paid — “did this today for 40+ tickets” — and two commenters putting the figure at 40 rather than 20. So the payout is best read as late-and-larger rather than missing: no source explains the 20-versus-40 gap, and the guides that started it are dated 23 October, before the 25 October build. Treat both numbers as reported and check the hub panel on your own account.

Observed

Where you start it, and what the lobby is counting down to

From the 2026-10-23 full-run recording and the in-game Events panel read on 2026-10-24.

  • - The lobby teleporter reads “GLOBAL EVENTS 0/4” over “Touch to create a party”, so the party circle is the door — there is no separate Hollow button.
  • - A countdown board in the same lobby read “01:01:30:43” under an EVENT banner and “01:01:31:04” under “UPDATE / NEW CONTENT”, 21 seconds apart, and the panel then carried exactly one scheduled entry. That entry was the one that landed: the 2026-10-25 build shipped on schedule.
  • - The Events panel listed two live entries on 2026-10-24 — “CHAPTER 4 + HALLOWEEN 🎃” with the creator's note “The story continues... 🎃”, and “Personal Garden 🥕” with “Grow Crops, Get Tokens 🥕” — with nothing labelled The Hollow. That changed the same evening: the creator created THE HOLLOW's own tile (event 6418980465155375704, subtitle “Impossible Mode + New Pet”) at 2026-10-24 17:30 UTC, and by 2026-10-31 the panel carried three entries — CHAPTER 4, THE HOLLOW and CHAPTER 5. So the earlier “the event reaches this game as a quest, not as a tile” reading was true for one day and is not true now.
Still unknown

What the event does not publish

  • - The Hollow badge's own id and award count. Garage Games announced on 2026-10-25 that the build ships “The Hollow Badge!”, so it exists — but the experience's public badge list still returns seven entries, none of them named for this quest, so no id or award count can be cited.
  • - Whether the 20 Tickets credit automatically, need a claim on a hub panel, or simply lag. Four players and one creator said they did not arrive on 23 and 24 October; later comments on a 2026-10-24 guide report a payout of “40+”, and two commenters write 40. Which step credits them, and why the figure differs, is still unpublished.
  • - Whether a second clear pays another 20 Tickets.
  • - What the 2026-10-25 build changed beyond its own five-line list. Gameplay beyond Impossible Mode, the Skeletal Chest and the new class is not described anywhere, and the build then moved again on 2026-10-30 18:57 UTC with no change list at all.
Halloween Chest

What the candy is for

The chest panel from the 2026-10-11 recording charges 150 Halloween Candy per open and prints its own drop table. The eleven entries total 100%, so the panel is showing its full list rather than hiding a fallback.

What one open costs

150 Halloween Candy per chest. A full Chapter 4 run paid 500 candy on its completion screen plus what dropped from skeletons, so one clear is worth roughly three opens — before you count the free lobby gift of three chests.

The Robux bundles on the same panel

The same screen sells three bundles — 3 chests for 99 R$, 10 for 249 R$ and 100 for 1,999 R$. Per chest that is about 33, 25 and 20 R$. Nothing in the panel or on any creator surface says whether the event returns, so the 100-chest bundle is the cheapest per pull and the most exposed to the event ending on 31 October 2026 — and the Skeletal Chest below is the newer panel, with its own price ladder.

2026-10-25 build

Impossible Mode and the Skeletal Chest

The update that landed on 25 October added a third difficulty and a second chest. Neither replaces anything on this page: the Graveyard steps are unchanged, and the October chest above is a different panel with a different table.

Impossible Mode

  • Where: the party creation screen, as a third option beside Normal and Hard. It is a difficulty, not a chapter.
  • Objectives do not change: a recorded Impossible run still listed “find the candles 0/4”, “light the candles 0/4” and the ??? step from the walkthrough above.
  • Completion still ends on the Chapter 5 teaser: “TO BE CONTINUED... (CHAPTER 5)”.
  • What it pays: one solo clear took 1:10:40 and settled at +3,900 Gems with a multiplier running. That is one reading, not a reward table — no creator surface publishes Impossible payout tiers.
  • How players use it: the recorded run mined Gems out of the haystack and left rather than finishing the puzzles, because the candle hunt is the slow part. That is one player's method, not a requirement.

Skeletal Chest — the printed ladder

Read on 2026-10-25 from the chest's own odds panel. Seven rows, adding up to about 100.005%, so unlike the October chest this one can be read as a complete table rather than a partial one.

Skeletal Chest prizes and their printed odds
PrizePrinted chance
Gems (50-75)51.98%
Gems (75-175)35%
Bone Demon Pitchfork5%
2x Luck (30 min)5%
Bone Demon Vacuum2.5%
Skeletal Pig (Pet)0.4%
Tiger (Pet)0.125%

The same screen sells three bundles: 3 for 80 R$, 10 for 200 R$, 100 for 1600 R$ — between 16 and 26.7 Robux a chest. The candy price per single open was not visible in any frame captured, so it is left blank rather than copied from the October chest's 150.

Tiger's own pet card, opened in the same recording, reads “Fast and fierce. Hauls huge loads, and one bite in five takes double.” with speed 10, carry 370 and mastery 32, and the line “20% chance to take 2 bites”.

Odds panel and bundle bar read frame by frame from a 2026-10-25 recording of the Impossible build.

Where runs go wrong

The three things that cost people the chapter

These are the failure points visible in both recordings, in the order they bite.

  1. 1. The match minigame locks your screen. The “Light The Candle” panel takes the whole screen while skeletons are already walking. If you start a candle with a crowd around you, you eat the hits. Clear the ground near a holder before you place the candle, not after.
  2. 2. Tools overheat. The vacuum shows an overheat cooldown — 16 seconds in one recording, 18 in the other — so you cannot lean on it for a whole skeleton wave. Time the cooldown before you commit to the boss window rather than during it.
  3. 3. The fight is not over when the bar empties. The blackout phase cuts visibility while spike rings and thrown pumpkins are already telegraphed, and every cross turns green after “PUMPKIN BOSS HAS FALLEN!” while the skeleton count spikes. Break contact and get to the van rather than clearing the field.

One tactic both runs use: jumping onto the bed of the red pickup by the gate drops the skeletons' line of attack long enough to reset.

Still unknown

What nobody has published

A chapter page is supposed to answer these. The badges answered two — the map name and the existence of a boss and a finish line — and the two runs fill in the rest as readings. Nothing here is a fixed value.

  • - The third objective line. Both runs print it only as “???” until the boss appears, when it becomes “Defeat the Pumpkin Golem”.
  • - Whether Chapter 4 has its own place ID. Chapter 3 resolved to place 82626725163709, but no published surface names a Chapter 4 place and both runs open inside the graveyard from the party screen.
  • - The Pumpkin Golem's real health. One run's bar started near 200,000 and the other run's value was not readable from its recording; whether it scales with party size is unpublished.
  • - What HARD changes. The difficulty switch is visible in the GRAVEYARD party panel, but neither recording plays HARD, so boss health, skeleton density and payout under HARD are all unknown.
  • - Whether the 32 minutes and 275 Gems on the completion screen are fixed or depend on speed, party size and difficulty. Chapter 3's two recorded payouts differed the same way, so treat your own screen as the answer.
  • - What “REPLAY 0/1” counts — one replay per chapter, per day or per session — and whether a replay pays the same.
  • - Whether candle spawn points are fixed positions or random per run.
  • - What the straw-hat driver says. One recording shows him turn and speak, but the audio was not transcribed here, so the line is left out rather than guessed.
  • - Whether the “TO BE CONTINUED... (CHAPTER 5)” line is a dated commitment or a placeholder. Chapter 3 ended on the same device and Chapter 4 landed about two weeks after that teaser first appeared, which is a precedent, not a schedule.

If you are playing it now, the game itself is the authority: read the objectives off your own screen, and treat any page — this one included — as out of date the moment the build changes.

FAQ

Chapter 4 questions

Is Chapter 4 out?

Yes. “Finish Chapter 4” and “Defeat the Pumpkin Boss” entered the official badge list on 7 and 8 October 2026, both are already being awarded, and the official “[🎃] CHAPTER 4 + HALLOWEEN” event published a window from 11 to 25 October 2026 that now runs to 2026-10-31 18:30 UTC.

How do I get to Chapter 4?

Pick the GRAVEYARD map in the party screen and create a party at your difficulty and size; both recordings start there rather than from a separate place page. No published place ID exists for Chapter 4 the way 82626725163709 did for Chapter 3. If the tile is not offering you CREATE PARTY yet, finish Chapter 3 first.

How do I light the candles?

Place the candle in a holder, then drag the match head across the striking strip until the header stops counting “STRIKE IT! 0/x”. It then reads “LIGHT THE CANDLE!” and you drag the lit match onto the wick. The two recordings disagree on the strike count per candle, so read the counter in the panel.

Why do skeletons keep spawning?

Lighting candles wakes the graveyard. The recordings print “The dead are rising from their graves!” as the graves open, and spawning continues through the candle phase and the boss fight. They drop Halloween Candy, which is the currency the Halloween Chest charges 150 of.

Is the Pumpkin Boss the same as the Hollow King?

Yes — one fight, three labels. The entrance banner reads “PUMPKIN GOLEM” with “The Hollow King” under it, the health bar says “Pumpkin Golem”, and the official badge is “Defeat the Pumpkin Boss”.

Are there Chapter 4 codes?

IMPOSSIBLE is the newest string — the 25 October 2026 update announcement carries “USE CODE: IMPOSSIBLE”, and Beebom and UrGameTips both report 120 Gems. POTION and GARDEN are carried by three of the four readable outlets: POTION reads 325 Gems on Eurogamer against 120 on Beebom and UrGameTips, and GARDEN reads 200 Gems plus two garden items on IGN against 200 bare on Eurogamer and 120 on the other two. IGN alone retired POTION on 26 October and left it with no reward figure. WEDNESDAY and 100MVISITS sit on the expired block on a two-against-two split. See the codes page for the splits and the full expired list.

Is this game part of The Hollow event?

Yes, as a quest stop. Roblox's Hollow hub says to complete event quests “here and in participating experiences”, the experience renamed itself [THE HOLLOW] on the 22 October 2026 build, and three creators uploaded Hollow guides for this game on 23 October. It is not one of the nine monster games Roblox named, so expect a quest that pays Tickets rather than a hub night of its own. The Hollow runs 22 October to 2 November 2026.

How long does the event quest take?

Players report 40 to 60 minutes solo and about 40 minutes in a party of three or four who know the map, with 6 to 10 of those minutes on the Pumpkin Golem. Nobody has published a duration. The same threads put the other Hollow stops at 3 to 15 minutes, so this is the long one — take a party if you are only here for the 20 Tickets.

Why did I not get the 20 Tickets?

You are not alone, and no cause is published. Four players and one creator reported on 23 and 24 October 2026 that the badge landed but the 20 Tickets never appeared in the Hollow hub. Later comments do report being paid — one under a 2026-10-24 guide says “did this today for 40+ tickets”, and two commenters put the figure at 40 rather than 20 — so a delay is now the better reading than a total failure, and no source explains the 20-versus-40 gap. Garage Games announced on 25 October that the build ships “The Hollow Badge!”, but it still does not appear in the experience's public seven-badge list, so its id and award count stay unciteable.

Official, then observed

Badge text and the event window come from Roblox's own surfaces. The steps come from two dated recordings and say so.

Numbers are readings

Boss health, kill time and the completion payout are what one run printed each. The two runs disagree on the kill time, and Chapter 3's runs disagreed on health, so none of them are constants.

No invented place IDs

Chapter 4 has no published place ID. We would rather leave the field blank than reuse another chapter's ID.
